In spite of the weather trying to put a damper on things in the morning, the team made some tough decisions and everyone pulled together to make last Saturday’s Festival a huge success. This was without a doubt our busiest event yet and we are absolutely over the moon as not only did we smash last year’s total but we raised an amazing £2000 for our school community!

We would like to say MASSIVE thanks to everyone who made it happen:

  • The small team of parents and staff members who have been so busy behind the scenes, planning, organising, making, designing and publicising the Summer Festival for several months

  • Our students from across the school who designed our amazing posters

  • Friends of the school, local businesses and members of our community who donated so many AMAZING raffle prizes

  • Everyone who donated much needed supplies and prizes on non-uniform day

  • The stallholders who support our events, especially our student stallholders who blew us away with the standard of their making and the fantastic products they were selling

  • Our GCSE Music students and Plymouth Performing Arts Academy for keeping everyone so beautifully entertained throughout the day, and to Nick for pulling it all together as MC

  • Rhythm City Dance, Sling Swing and Archery Assault for sharing their skills with our community

  • Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service for still managing to bring their fire engine down to visit us after fighting a fire on Saturday afternoon!

  • Bakers who made goodies for the refreshments stall and our Star Bakers who spent hours creating the most amazing Showstoppers for our first ever Bake Off Contest – and of course Judge Jake for having to choose the winners – definitely the hardest job of the day!

  • Desi Junction and World Pizza for their delicious food!

  • Our incredibly hardworking facilities team, without whom none of these fabulous events could ever happen

  • Finally, and very importantly, to the small army of students, parents, family members and friends, staff members and student teachers, the Borneo Team and Year 6 Parent Group, who gave up their time to help set up, work on stalls and run activities, and help with the big clean up afterwards

Thank you most of all to everyone who came along and supported the event – we hope you all had a fantastic time!
