Primary News

We have enjoyed another great week and the children have certainly been busy in their classrooms learning and are showing a really positive attitude towards achieving their best.
Our school expectations are around being ready, being respectful and being safe. This is language that staff and children are using throughout the school day and you may want to adopt these at home as well. Our Values Assembly on Monday focused on how we can all be ready, respectful and safe in school; and our Celebration Assembly is an opportunity for us to celebrate those children who have really shone in these areas during the week.
Lunchtimes are much improved, with children enjoying eating and chatting together alongside staff.
Our Learning to Learn Assembly focused on ‘Absorption’ this week and we learnt about how to maintain attention and support others to do the same. We asked children to consider the questions: How will you absorb yourself in your learning? How will you maintain a state of ‘flow’ so that you can make the most of all learning opportunities?
Please note that we are offering a free set of sessions for parents to support with learning; this is a great opportunity for you to learn some easy and effective strategies to do at home. Please ask Alice Bingham or Mel Tucker if you would like more information on this.
