Brazil Project
This term pupils in Phase 1 are linking to a school called Escola Eccos in São Paulo, Brazil. Their learning has involved making Brazilian flags, learning about landmarks and translating language.
Post Office Trip
It was exciting for pupils to go to the post office recently to post a large collaborative artwork they made for Escola Eccos school in Brazil. Our pupils documented their journey to the post office and were excited about collecting some post that the pupils had sent over from Brazil.
Learning a Brazilian Song
It was a new experience for our Phase 1 pupils to use a google translator to translate a Brazilian song by Fernanda Sander into English. They enjoyed singing the song in English to the original Brazilian melody. The pupils recorded the song and sent it over to Escola Eccos school in Brazil for pupils there to watch.
It is nice, and soft and gentle, like a lullaby.

Learning Colours in Portuguese
Recently the Brazilian pupils have recorded a film to show our pupils how to say certain colours in Portuguese. They used different colour flowers and objects in their playground to point to when saying the colours our loud in Portuguese. Our pupils found it fascinating to hear these new words!
The children have been so engaged and keen to learn about the Brazilian culture. They have been working closely with our school staff to create a blog to document their learning and to share with their new friends in Brazil. See their fantastic blog.
