It was our pleasure to welcome Liz Curry into school this week to speak with our yr 7 and 8 students about her experience of having meningitis and living an independent life as a quadruple amputee.  The students were totally engaged with Liz as she told them her story and she had some terrific questions feedback from them also. In fact this weekend Liz messaged me to let me know that she took the advice of one of the students which was “when people stare at you don’t take any notice” and she managed to make eye contact with someone who was staring at her as she got out of a swimming pool, which for Liz was a first.  Liz is going to be spending some more time with us working alongside in the art department in September.
