Sound
Year 7 have been learning about sound in their science lessons. They have been using kit to explore sound waves. They discovered that the vibrations occur in the same direction as the direction of travel and that sound waves can only travel through a solid, liquid or gas.
Vibrations
Pupils experimented with making different sounds and speaking with high pitch and low pitch voices. They learnt that when an object or substance vibrates, it produces sound. The bigger the vibrations, the greater the amplitude and the louder the sound. Year 7 talked about about different parts of the ear and how the sound waves effect these to unable us to hear.
