Dance lovers from across the city flocked to The Red House on Wednesday evening to sell out show ‘An Audience with Dame Darcey Bussell’. The former prima ballerina and current Strictly Come Dancing Judge very kindly volunteered her time to a group of our students who have been busy raising money for a conservation trip to Borneo. Dame Darcey answered questions on stage posed by students Erin and Gracie to a paying audience with proceeds going towards the Borneo expedition. The ‘Team Borneo’ students worked hard to cater for the event preparing canapés and holding a raffle. A keen group of student reporters also Interviewed Dame Darcey in our Red House Radio studio before the event.
Darcey spent the whole morning at The Red House hosting a DDMIX Schools Dance Festival for primary schools across the city. The event saw students perform in-front of Darcey and an audience of young people with Darcey judging and mentoring. What a fantastic experience!
