So, how do we top last week’s MTB Club news, with all it’s jumps, fast downhill riding, scrapes and heroics? Simple, we take Brandon to Lanhydrock. Doesn’t sound exciting enough? Let me explain…

Brandon, or B-dog, has been with the club from the start. Initially he was unable to ride on our trips, simply because we didn’t have the capacity to look after him and a group of other riders. The is because Brandon is really challenged when it comes to learning, but he is in equal measure passionate about being a member of the MTB Club. So, last year we began working with Brandon, initially one-to-one, then out with groups, and he has gradually started to enjoy his riding more and more. However, Brandon’s nemesis is gradients. Uphill can be okay, but anything downhill or across the trail really causes him problems. On Sunday though, we made a real breakthrough. For the first time, Brandon was able to roll off the start ramp, over the tabletop jumps, and clean through the rhythm section of the skills course at Lanhydrock. He was so elated that he was literally shouting his head off, until I told him that we had to do it again so that I could record it! This session was as rewarding as any I’ve led; well done B-dog, here’s to many more trail adventures to come 🙂
