This year’s Winter Craft Fair was the best one yet in every way! Our school community really came together to create a very special day, full of fun and joy and with such a lovely atmosphere of togetherness.
We had students from all Phases running their own stalls and selling their own creations, many donating some of their profits to the school.
There were beautiful stalls selling fantstic handmade goodies everywhere you looked, thanks to our wonderful stallholders, many of whom return every year.
Everyone was put in a festive mood by our fabulous musicians and singers who performed throughout the event, including students of all ages, Plymouth Performing Arts Academy, Stonehouse Community Voices, staff members, parents and even a Governor!
Craft activities were provided by our Wraparound Care Team, Phase 2 Enterprise Club, Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council, staff and parent volunteers.
Our eco-friendly initiatives – Clothes Swap and ‘Elfridges’ preloved toys, games and books – proved really popular and our elves were run off their tiny feet!
We had yummy baked goodies on sale and some spectacular Festive Showstoppers entered into the Bake Off Contest!
As ever, our small army of amazing volunteers worked their socks off, making sure the day ran smoothly and everyone had a great time. We estimate it took approximately 270 volunteer hours, before, during and after the event, to make the Winter Craft Fair happen! Enormous thanks to everyone who contributed to what became a really magical day.
Once the big clean up was complete and we counted up the cash we were amazed to discover that for the first time ever we had raised over £2000 from one event!
Nearing the end of what has been a really challenging year it is truly heartening to see what our wonderful school community can achieve when we work together. Thank you to everyone!
Many thanks to Layla for the lovely photos:
