Year 1 were fortunate to experience a visit from Toby Ray, a local artist, to share some of his seascape painting of Wembury Beach and The Mewstone. Toby’s work is inspired by Devon and Cornwall’s coastline. In his paintings he mixes acrylics, old ordnance survey maps, wood and rare maritime shipping charts to create his work. Children in the studio enjoyed asking Toby questions about being an artist and watched in amazement as he mixed paints together to make all sorts of colours. We look forward to using what we have learned to paint our own seascape paintings. For more about Toby, please take a look and like his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/
