On Monday 13th March, we took a group of under 13 boys to a football tournament at Stover School. 6 teams took part in the tournament and our boys finished third overall. The first game was against Stovers B team which we comfortably won 2-0 thanks to goals from Muhammet and Isaac. The second game saw our boys face off against Bramdean, a game which we completely dominated seeing shots skimming the crossbar and a shot cleared off the line. Unfortunately we lost this game 1-0 with the goal coming in the final seconds of the game. The third game saw the boys bounce back and return to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Plymouth College. The goal was a fantastic team effort with the ball won on the edge of our own box by Adam. The ball was played forwards with the boys displaying some great football until Baban set Ilhan through 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper thanks to a skilful first time flick that split the defence. From here Ilhan made no mistake an slipped the ball in to the back of the net. The fourth game of the tournament saw PSCA play against Stovers A team. This was without doubt a tale of two halves with the boys showing their class in the second. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Baban scoring the goal to bring the boys back level. The performance given by our boys during this game was much better than that displayed two weeks ago when we played the same team. The final game of the tournament saw the boys play against Shebbear College. Going in to this game, the boys were aware that a win would have earned them second place overall. Unfortunately fitness had a big influence in the result with the boys falling just short losing 1-0. Despite some great efforts late in to injury time, we just couldn’t seem to find the net.

Well done to all of those involved in the tournament!
